Business Development Manager – Preclinical Services (NHP Models)

Our client is a rapidly growing preclinical services organization specializing in non-human primate (NHP) models supporting translational research and drug development programs for biotech and pharmaceutical partners. They are seeking a highly driven Business Development Manager to expand strategic partnerships across the Boston/Cambridge life sciences ecosystem.
This is an excellent opportunity for a commercially minded scientific professional with deep industry relationships and strong expertise in preclinical development.
Key Responsibilities
Drive new business opportunities and revenue growth across biotech, pharma, and CRO accounts
Develop and manage strategic relationships within the Boston/Cambridge life sciences community
Identify client needs and position customized preclinical service solutions utilizing NHP models
Collaborate cross-functionally with scientific and operational teams to develop proposals and client strategies
Maintain a strong understanding of market trends, competitive landscape, and drug development pipelines
Represent the company at scientific conferences, networking events, and industry meetings
Manage the full sales cycle from lead generation through contract execution
Consistently achieve or exceed revenue and business development targets
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Life Sciences, Biology, Pharmacology, or related scientific discipline; advanced degree preferred
5+ years of business development experience within biotech, pharmaceutical, or CRO environments
Strong and active network within Boston/Cambridge life sciences organizations
Proven track record of achieving or exceeding revenue targets in complex scientific sales environments
Deep understanding of preclinical and/or clinical drug development processes
Ability to communicate complex scientific concepts and translate them into compelling business solutions
Hands‑on experience or strong familiarity with non-human primate (NHP) models and translational research applications
Excellent communication, presentation, and relationship management skills
Ability to travel as needed for client meetings and industry events
Preferred Qualifications
Experience selling preclinical research services or translational models
Existing relationships with emerging biotech and mid-to-large pharmaceutical companies
Scientific background in immunology, neuroscience, infectious disease, or related therapeutic areas
