Overview

The Multimedia Developer designs, develops, and implements interactive training programs and courseware in support of aviation training requirements. The role applies Instructional Systems Development (ISD) principles and produces engaging digital learning materials, simulations, and interactive courseware.
Responsibilities

Work with subject matter experts and assigned experts to develop ISD products, reviewing and researching government‑furnished materials (GFMs).
Interview SMEs and locate, extract, and synthesize information from GFMs, syllabi, and course structures to ensure training meets ISD and technical requirements.
Assist in developing multiple levels of training tasks and products in accordance with instructional design processes.
Design, produce, and integrate 2D/3D graphics, animations, audio, and video assets for interactive applications delivered in various settings: classroom, computer‑based training (CBT), aircrew training device (ATD), part‑task trainer (PTT), and video.
Use established standards for format and style, and procedures for design and development of courseware documents and training materials.
Implement interactivity and simulations with industry‑standard technologies (HTML5, JavaScript, Unity/Unreal, SCORM/xAPI‑compliant tools).
Format technical documents to specific standards, import supporting graphic content, and prepare for classroom distribution.
Review and edit training materials to ensure proper grammar and visual appearance.
Prioritize efforts to meet course milestones and conduct peer reviews to confirm quality standards.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications and Education Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Multimedia Design/Development, Instructional Technology, Computer Science, or related field (or equivalent education and experience).
Minimum two (2) years of professional experience developing interactive multimedia training or eLearning content.
Experience with aviation or defense‑related training programs is highly desirable.
Core Technical Skills

Proficiency in HTML5, JavaScript, and modern web frameworks (e.g., CreateJS, React, Angular).
Familiarity with Unity, Unreal Engine, or comparable simulation tools.
Proficiency with Windows OS and Microsoft Office (PowerPoint, Word, Outlook).
Basic web‑development and layout skills.
Proficiency with multimedia authoring tools: Adobe Animate, Photoshop, Illustrator, After Effects, Premiere Pro.
Experience with SCORM and/or xAPI standards and Learning Management Systems (LMS).
Knowledge of major browsers (Internet Explorer, Safari, Chrome, Firefox).
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
Availability to work overtime and across all shifts and days of the week as required.
Desirable Skills

UI/UX design principles.
Basic digital audio and video editing.
3D modeling/animation using 3ds Max, Blender, or similar tools.
Instructional video scripting and production.
Security Clearance

Candidate must be eligible to obtain and maintain a DoD personal security clearance. Only U.S. citizens are eligible for this role.
Work Environment & Physical Demands

Regular office environment with use of computer, telephone, and fax. Office space may expose employee to extreme heat, airborne particles, and loud noises. Duties may require domestic and international travel. Physical requirements include walking, climbing stairs, and using equipment such as simulators or aircraft cockpits; ability to stoop, bend, crawl, and detect environmental conditions.
