Job Overview

Male presenting actors for HOS stage show. Must attend an in‑person audition on June7th. Check‑in at 9:00am at Human Resources, 3605E Bougainvillea Ave. Actors must apply online prior to audition. Headshot and resume needed. Please prepare a one‑minute comedic monologue.

Responsibilities

  • Perform dynamic live‑mic characters for HOS Stage Shows.
  • Represent the park enthusiastically with a positive attitude, high energy, and commitment to quality in all aspects of the job.
  • Serve as an expert performer in assigned roles, displaying strong comedic and physical acting skills.
  • Learn and retain stage blocking, choreography, and script.
  • Openly and respectfully accept performance feedback and critique, adapting accordingly.
  • Execute pre‑ and post‑show backstage duties as outlined in the daily schedule.
  • Ensure adherence to safety and procedural directions that accompany this position.
  • Consistently and expertly execute stage direction and show content as directed by leadership.
  • Perform with live effects, including lasers, fog, smoke, props, and flashing lights.
  • Maintain a positive and flexible attitude.
  • Interact positively with guests, employees, and others.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Strong dance skills, choreography, and blocking retention.
  • Strong physical comedy skills.
  • Personable and animated with a fun, outgoing personality.
  • Ability to openly accept performance feedback and adapt accordingly.
  • Ability to work indoors and outdoors, in all weather conditions and temperature extremes while performing in a character costume.
  • Demonstrated strong costume and escorting skills.
  • At least 18years old.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Ability to lift, push, and pull up to 50pounds.
  • Availability to work varying shifts or hours based on park hours (opening/closing shifts, after‑hour rehearsals).
  • Ability to move and dance in full costume consistent with creative intent.
  • Ability to maintain character integrity.
  • Willingness to participate in regular internal performance assessments.
  • Previous costume character and/or dance experience preferred.
  • Previous guest experience in a high‑volume capacity preferred.
  • Previous experience in the fields of dance, theater, athletics, or other performance arts preferred.
  • Ability to positively interact with guests and co‑workers of all ages, diverse ethnic, cultural, or language backgrounds, and individuals with special needs.
  • Strong verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to stand, walk, and/or sit for prolonged periods of time.

Physical and Operating Requirements

  • Lifting, pushing, pulling, and carrying up to 50lbs.
  • Extensive walking and standing throughout the entire work shift; climbing/ascending heights when needed.
  • Perform physical activities such as kneeling, squatting, bending, reaching overhead, and fine hand manipulation tasks (use of tools/keyboard/writing).
  • Work indoors and outdoors, including extreme heat, and be exposed to fumes, dust, odors, cold/heat temperature extremes.
  • Perform cleaning duties, including use of cleaning chemicals.
  • Work a flexible schedule based on business needs, including opening, mid‑ and closing shifts, nights, weekends, and holidays.
  • Be flexible in work locations as placement will depend on business needs and career development opportunities.
  • Participation in an in‑person audition at a pre‑determined time.

Audition Requirements

  • Dance, movement, script memorization, role‑playing, comedic improvisation, and miming as necessary.
  • For costumed character auditions: primarily movement, non‑verbal communication, and physical coordination.
  • Arrive early enough to stretch and warm up before the audition begins.
  • Wear form‑fitting dance attire that allows a full range of movement and tennis or jazz shoes; do not wear jeans.
  • Prepare a resume and headshot, which will be retained by the audition team.
