Acoustics Engineer
Location: Tempe, AZ | Full‑Time | Onsite.

Schedule: Day Shift – Monday to Thursday 5:00 a.m. – 3:30 p.m.

TechLite, a division of the Zippertubing Company, is a U.S.-owned manufacturer with more than 50 years of experience designing and producing high-performance acoustic panels and specialty insulation systems. Our markets include architectural, industrial, transportation, and commercial sectors where sound control, thermal performance, and material innovation are critical.

Key Responsibilities

Support design and development of acoustic panels and insulation systems.

Perform acoustic calculations and analysis related to sound absorption, transmission loss, and noise reduction.

Assist in product testing, validation, and documentation.

Interpret customer specifications and technical requirements.

Collaborate with manufacturing to ensure designs are practical, scalable, and cost‑effective.

Support prototype development and product improvement initiatives.

Work with Sales and Business Development to translate technical performance into customer‑ready solutions.

Contribute to technical documentation, reports, and product datasheets.

Participate in continuous improvement initiatives within engineering and production.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Acoustical Engineering, Architectural Engineering, or related field.

At least 2 years of experience in acoustics, materials engineering, or product development.

Foundational understanding of sound absorption and transmission principles, acoustic measurement concepts (NRC, STC, etc.), and material behavior and performance.

Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills.

Proficiency in Excel and familiarity with CAD software preferred.

Ability to work collaboratively in a small‑team manufacturing environment.

Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications

Internship experience in architectural acoustics, manufacturing, or materials testing.

Exposure to ASTM acoustic testing standards.

Experience working in a production or lab environment.

Job Conditions
The role is performed in a multi‑occupied office environment with face‑to‑face customer interactions and occasional work on the production floor near vibrating equipment. Standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets, and fax machines are used.
