Malcolm X College is currently seeking a part‑time SocialMedia Coordinator who will be responsible for managing the college’s social media presence across multiple platforms,including Facebook, LinkedIn, and Instagram.

PRIMARY OBJECTIVE
The Coordinator - Social Media (Part-Time) will focus onestablishing a targeted social media presence for the college inaccordance with the guidelines provided by the City Colleges of Chicago. This job will be responsible for social media strategy,producing content for various social media platforms, and managingsocial media campaigns to promote the college’s events and programsand enhance its reputation.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES
Develops and executes a social media strategy for the Collegewith input from multiple departments.
Produces content across social media channels.
Develops, launches, manages, and integrates social mediacampaigns.
Coordinates the development of collateral with departments foruse within social media posts.
Monitors the impact of public media by tracking metrics andanalyzing the effectiveness of campaigns.
Monitors and responds to conversations and keeps keystakeholders informed of trends and topics of interest.
Researches sources and current events to use on public medianetworks.
Distributes promotional material throughout the College.
Maintains editorial calendar for key public media initiatives to provide fresh and engaging content on a daily basis.
Identifies ways to promote campus events by media visibility and enhance its reputation through innovative use of publicmedia.
Performs other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor’s degree or higher from a regionally accredited institution and two (2) years of related experience in public mediaplatforms; or Associate's degree from an accredited institution and four (4) years of related experience in public media platforms such as Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, LinkedIn, and blogs or YouTube.
Knowledge and understanding of College organization, goals and objectives, and policies and procedures.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to work individually on a project or in a team environment.
Ability to think strategically and creatively.
Ability to demonstrate good judgment and discretion when dealing with sensitive topics.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office 365 (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), database and technical applications specific to department area.
Ability to work well in a multi-ethnic and multi-cultural environment with students, faculty and staff.
Ability to work a flexible schedule to include evening and weekend assignments.
SALARY RANGE
$19.67 – 24.59 per Hour
Offered salary will be determined by the respective collective bargaining agreement and applicant's education, experience, knowledge, skills and abilities.
