Renishaw CMM and Gauging Products Division (CGPD) is seeking a CMM Specialist to install, integrate and offer continuing support for Renishaw’s coordinate measuring machine control systems. This role will involve working directly with end users and other integrators. Customers include Aerospace, Automotive, Defense, and Medical. Travel expectations typically exceed 75% and the position is based in Auburn Hills, MI.
Responsibilities
Onsite installation of new coordinate measuring machines.
Retrofit, calibration, and certification of existing coordinate measuring machine installations with new Renishaw technology.
Provide onsite/offsite support for installation and integration of new products onto existing coordinate measuring machines.
Offer technical and commercial support of the CGPD product line to the direct sales force and distributors.
Investigate and resolve product issues for both internal and external sales.
Conduct training on CGPD products for end users, integrators, and other staff.
Create and maintain technical support documentation for troubleshooting.
Assist in preparation and support of trade shows, exhibitions, and open houses.
Domestic travel may exceed 75% with some international travel required.
Perform other duties as assigned or requested.
Qualifications
Minimum Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering or an equivalent discipline or experience.
Ability to understand and comprehend engineering principles.
Understanding of electronic and mechanical principles.
Strong troubleshooting skills.
Information technology aptitude.
Computer competency.
Strong mathematical skills (e.g., trigonometry).
Eligibility to use and access ITAR-controlled data.
Preferred: Experience in manufacturing, quality control, metrology, or CMM operations.
Knowledge of Renishaw’s CMM and gauging products.
Understanding of GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing).
Experience working with CAD/CAM in a manufacturing or quality control environment.
Previous internship involving the manufacturing of parts.
Ability to identify problems and troubleshoot technical (mechanical and electrical) systems.
Manual dexterity and ability to install products in a normal production environment.
Competence with Windows-based computer systems.
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
Good time-management and commitment to completing assigned work.
Verbal and written interpersonal skills.
Compensation
Annual salary up to $80,000 (depending on level and location). Final offers are determined by candidate experience, expertise, and geographic location.
