School of Music student workers support the administrative andproduction needs of the School of Music. Daily functions includesupporting the practice rooms, classes, ensembles, concerts, andrecitals throughout each semester.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Ensure that all University and departmental branding andmarketing standards are followed.
Uses knowledge of current graphic design software within AdobeCreative Suite to produce print and digital materials.
Assist with edits and updates to previously createddesigns.
Remain abreast of technological advances in the field, identifyareas of use in the organization, and stay familiar with standardconcepts, practices, and procedures.
Demonstrate basic understanding and usage of typography, colortheory, and principles and elements of design in all createdpieces.
Work on several projects at once, sometimes under pressure andtight deadlines.
Complete special projects as assigned by supervisor.
Communicate effectively through both written and spoken meanswith supervisor, professors, and students.
Represent and serve the School of Music in a professional,kind, and humble manner.
Strictly adhere to Liberty University policies, representingthe University in an exemplary manner.
Work effectively as a team member, embracing and fostering LU’sChristian model and Mission – Training Champions for Christ.

QUALIFICATIONS AND CREDENTIALS

Education and Experience High school diploma
1-2 years work experience in any field preferred
Minimum Qualifications
Current Liberty University student in good standing with theUniversity.
Able to work between 15-20 hours a week (primarily between thehours of 8 a.m.-4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday)
Possess a creative mindset, intellectual curiosity, and adesire to learn
Able to give and receive creative feedback
Knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite
Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in ateam setting
Experience in graphic design
Must be detail-oriented and able to work well under pressure,prioritize projects, and meet deadlines.
Eligible for Federal Work Study, Work Assistant, orInternational Work Supplement (depending on position)
Preferred Qualifications
Graphic Design major or similar major/minor
Photography skills
Photoshop/Editing skills

Communication and Comprehension Ability to effectively communicate both verbally and in writingto convey clear, well articulated information.
Ability to understand, speak, and write English in order toconvey messages and correspond in an articulate and professionalmanner.
Possess public communication skills that allow professionalrepresentation of Liberty University to a variety of business andcommunity customers and associates.
Strong organizational skills.
Excellent computer skills
Problem Solving Intuitively able to reason, analyze information and events, andapply judgment in order to solve problems of both a routine andcomplex nature.
Physical and Sensory Abilities Frequently required to travel to local and campuslocations.
Occasionally required to sit for extended periods to performdeskwork or type on a keyboard.
Regularly required to hear and speak in order to effectivelycommunicate orally.
Occasionally required to stand, walk, and climb stairs to moveabout the building.
Handle materials, reach overhead, kneel or stoop in order toconduct business.
Regularly lift 10 or fewer pounds.
WORKING CONDITIONS

Work Environment

The working environment in which one will typically perform theessential functions of this position is a climate-controlledsetting. It is well lighted, and the noise level is moderate. ForSOM productions and concerts, music levels may be above average,but will not exceed industry and OSHA safety standards. Workingenvironment may include facilitation of events outdoorsoccasionally.

Driving Requirements

If the employee is required to travel in performing the duties andresponsibilities of the position, the use of one’s personal vehicle(or LU vehicles) may be required for travel. Proof of a validdriver’s license, an acceptable DMV record, LU Driving Approval,and liability insurance is required when driving in the performanceof the employee’s position.
