ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:Cultivates a respectful workplace maintaining and holding accountable the sales department to respect of attendance, respect of performance, respect of behavior and respect of common sense and judgementDevelops and maintains marketing plan and sale budget with the General Manager. Develops market segment strategies to prospect business for the hotel.Provides sales training to front office staff as well as Sales Coordinator and Sales ManagerParticipates in revenue management calls and strategies using reports, demand analysis and other resourcesSchedules and completes sales appointmentsAttends business, community, and civic affair events in the local areaEnsures teamwork and enhances cooperation between all departmentsCreates an effective sales team through training, mentoring, and participating in joint sales calls and blitzesAssists in rate and inventory strategy with GM, AGM and Revenue ManagerActs as Manager on Duty for the hotel, using problem solving skills to resolve complaints, disturbances, special requests, social media reviews and any other issues that may arise.Interviews, selects, trains, develops and administers performance appraisalsNegotiate hotel rates for LNR accounts based upon room night volume and day of week arrival/departure datesSecure group business for hotel, blocking rooms, sending contracts and follow up on cut off datesWorks with operations team to greet group eventsAssists guests with plans for meetings, schedules and monitors meeting functions, conducts property tours and explains amenitiesAssists with follow up on room lists, direct bill and other requirements of previously booked businessAssists with major group check-insCoordinates with kitchen staff for any catered eventsMaintains sales files and ensures accurate entry in sales systemOrganize work week to include a strong prospecting plan each week targeting business for need hotel datesFacilitates inside sales leads and helps with strategy to develop sales plansAlways follows company policies and proceduresEnsures fair treatment and respect of employees and guestsOther duties as assigned by supervisor or managementQUALIFICATIONS:Education/Experience: High School Diploma or GED equivalent. Minimum of six months hotel sales administrative experience or equivalent training and experience.Skills:Interpersonal skillsGuest serviceInnate sense of urgencyAdaptabilityDetail orientedProficient communicationAbility to multi-taskAdvanced experience with personal computers and related software applicationsAbility to read, write, and speak the English languageWorking Conditions:Will be required to work nights, weekends and holidaysWill be required to work in a fast-paced environmentThis job operates in a professional office environment.
