Position Overview
Apollo is seeking a highly motivated Regional Director to join the Central team. The Regional Director will be accountable for developing and managing relationships with RIA’s and IBD’s across the market—regardless of firm AUM. This individual should be detail-oriented with strong organizational and communication skills, as well as the ability to work effectively in a collaborative, fast‑paced, and team‑centric environment. The ideal candidate will be self‑motivated and energetic, possess a strong understanding of both capital and private markets, and have a proven track record of raising and retaining assets within the independent channel.
Responsibilities
Drive fundraising across Apollo’s perpetual and episodic product suite, focused on a specific territory of advisors/firms under coverage.
Collaborate closely with internal partners across the firm to cultivate a deep understanding of the investment approach and results, representing all facets of the firm’s products internally and externally.
Position Apollo’s strategies in a highly commercial and impactful manner with financial advisors nationwide.
Develop and deliver investment, market, and business communications to existing and prospective clients in one‑on‑one, small group, and large audience presentations.
Provide updates on overall financial markets performance, economic trends, and the overall investment outlook as articulated by Apollo.
Act as a spokesperson for the investment team, presenting a deep understanding of the investment process, market outlook, and serving as a strong advocate for the services.
Oversee a range of talent both on the internal sales desk and in the field.
Work closely with other departments—including Marketing, Product Management, CPMs, etc.—to ensure impactful marketing materials are created to reach prospects and clients.
Penetrate specific target opportunities within the region to capitalize on Apollo’s offerings and implement sales campaigns.
Maintain an in‑depth understanding of the independent marketplace, including growth drivers, investment styles, cadence of investment, and the ability to educate and overcome objections.
Excel at fund positioning and messaging to correlate with research and marketing campaigns of Apollo’s focus firms.
Manage and train team (direct and indirect) to become self‑sufficient in positioning and messaging within the context of typical customer interactions.
Qualifications & Experience
Minimum of 6‑7 years of experience in the financial services industry.
Prior experience working with institutional investors and financial advisors.
Prior knowledge and work experience in alternative investments.
Strong understanding of the sales cycle and the independent marketplace.
Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in written form.
Strong organizational skills and work ethic.
Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
Working knowledge of CRM, preferably Salesforce.
Bachelor’s degree required.
Series7 and63 licensed.
Demonstrates integrity, high‑energy and motivation to succeed.
Compensation
Pay Range $200k – $225k. This position is also eligible for a discretionary annual bonus based on personal, team, and firm performance. Compensation ranges are based on several factors including job function, level, and geographic location. Final offer amounts are determined by multiple factors including candidate experience and expertise, and may vary from the amounts listed here.
