Position:Production
Artist
Location:Remote
Duration:5 months to start with
Schedule:20 hours a week
Responsibilities:
This position is responsible for high quality production of images and page layouts that follow editorial, design, and brand specifications of each project.
The Production Artist will release files for both print and digital usage, and will work on high-resolution image manipulation and color correction of files for use across multiple media channels.
Prepare and organize production-ready files for American Girl Publishing projects.
Handle incoming content and asset requests from marketing, packaging, and external licensed publishing partners.
Support editors, historians, and content designers with revisions, file updates, production needs, and image requests.
Route final book PDFs to internal partners using Adobe Acrobat.
Maintain organized files, version control, and asset tracking across multiple projects.
Review digital press proofs from printers to ensure file accuracy and quality.
Manage book reprint updates by revising content files and supplying updated production-ready assets to printers.
Qualifications:
Associate or bachelor’s degree in graphic design, Graphic Arts, or a related discipline preferred.
3-5 years’ experience in related roles is preferred.
Experienced in Adobe Creative Suite.
Strong proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite, including InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator, and Acrobat.
Advanced Photoshop and Illustrator skills required for editing illustration and photographic assets.
Video color correction and color grading experience are a plus.
Strong organizational skills with a high attention to detail and quality standards.
The ability to juggle multiple projects and deadlines.
The ability to switch tasks frequently.
Professional, positive attitude, and willingness to take direction as well as work independently.
Familiarity with Malibu and Box asset management systems preferred.
