Production Artist Job at 84 Lumber in Eighty Four

Overview
The Production Artist is responsible for the collateral of 84 Lumber Company and outside customers. This position primarily assists with pre-flighting files in Adobe Illustrator by preparing cut paths, adding bleed, reviewing and uploading files, and handling minor design tasks. The candidate is expected to gain an understanding of our printers, CNC router, cutters, plotters, and laser. This position works closely with the sales and production teams to create print-ready artwork, balancing multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

Provide print-ready setup from customer provided files to meet production needs

Occasionally provide creative design assistance to help customer achieve desired results

Supervisory Responsibility
This position does not require any supervisory responsibility.

Work Environment
The incumbent is located in a busy office area and is faced with constant interruptions on a regular basis.

Physical Demands
This position requires frequent sitting, use of hands, talking and listening. Periodically this position walks, stands and reaches. Rarely, this position climbs, balances, stoops, kneels, crouches or crawls.

Position Type / Expected Hours of Work
This is a full-time position. Hours of work depends on store hours of operations, 45+ hours per week.

Travel
No travel is expected for this position.

Qualifications

Previous experience in print-production setup

Knowledge of Adobe Creative Suites software

Strong attention to detail

Maintain industry knowledge and interest in personal growth/development

Strong communication skills

Ability to work in team environment

Required Education and Experience
Associate’s Degree (A.A.) or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school; or 6 months to 1 year of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
