Position Summary

The Director, Market Access Marketing is a results-driven leader responsible for shaping and executing US reimbursement and payer access strategies. This critical leadership role ensures products are optimally positioned for coverage, reimbursement, and adoption across national and regional payer landscapes.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute the US Payer, Access & Reimbursement marketing strategy for the entire Sarepta portfolio, including the PMO franchise, gene therapy products, and SiRNA franchise.
  • Develop compelling value propositions and payer messaging platform in collaboration with Medical Affairs and Health Economics and Outcomes Research (HEOR).
  • Synthesize and provide payer, access, and reimbursement strategic recommendations to executive leadership, covering benefit design, prior authorizations, appeals, coding, and site-of-care regulations.
  • Serve as a core member of the Commercial Strategy, Marketing, and Diagnostics Leadership team and individual brand teams.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional partners to align and execute key payer and reimbursement strategies.
  • Oversee strategic partners and vendors to ensure timely execution, budget adherence, and compliance with Sarepta’s policies.
  • Lead the review process for access-related promotional materials and manage workflow to ensure compliance with medical, legal, and regulatory standards.
  • Effectively train and disseminate field-facing promotional materials with relevant field teams.
  • Manage the Market Access Marketing team budget and support additional U.S. Marketing initiatives.
  • Build, lead, and develop a Market Access Marketing Team in line with company growth.
  • Establish strong relationships and collaborative partnerships with key stakeholders in the field.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree required; MBA/MS or other graduate degree preferred.
  • Minimum 10 years of relevant experience in the biotech industry, preferably in orphan diseases.
  • At least 3 years of pharmaceutical industry experience in brand management, marketing, or market access.
  • Experience in successful commercialization of specialty therapies, preferably in rare disease space.
  • Demonstrated understanding of healthcare regulatory and enforcement environments, specifically orphan or rare disease.
  • History of successful collaboration with cross-functional teams.
  • Extensive experience in shaping market access strategies, developing brand plans, and payer marketing tools.
  • Experience launching buy-and-bill products.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects with initiative and priority setting.
  • Experience developing and managing promotional budgets and overseeing third-party vendors.
  • Proven ability to establish and sustain trusted relationships with internal partners and work effectively in teams.
  • Strong written, verbal, and presentation communication skills; interpersonal influencing and prioritization abilities.
  • Creative problem-solving, strategic vision, and ability to explore innovative approaches.
  • Ability to quickly forge strong partnerships with internal and external partners.
  • Ability to influence and lead across functions in a matrix environment.
  • Strong patient‑focused mindset required.
  • Strategic thinking combined with the ability to execute operational excellence amid challenging goals.
  • Knowledge of market and competitive environment.
  • Ability to travel up to 30% and work in a hybrid setting (on site at one of Sarepta’s U.S. facilities or attend company‑sponsored events).

Location & Compensation

Hybrid: expected to work on site at a Sarepta facility in the United States and attend company-sponsored in-person events from time to time. Targeted salary range: $185,600–$232,000 per year.
