The St. Louis County Public Administrator’s Office seeks a qualified Deputy Public Administrator. This position will perform daily tasks related to serving as Court-appointed Guardian and/or Conservator for incapacitated and/or disabled individuals under the supervision of the Public Administrator and his Chief Deputy. The starting salary is $48,048 annually, depending on qualifications and budgetary considerations. A comprehensive benefits package and generous Paid Time Off (PTO) policy are also offered.
Responsibilities
Manage a caseload of assigned Wards and Protectees.
Visit Wards at their placement to ensure the placement is the least restrictive environment that appropriately meets their needs and level of care.
Prepare and file Guardian Annual Status Reports with the Probate Court.
Provide consent for placement or treatment via phone, email, and fax.
Perform investigative work related to potential assets of the Protectees’ estates, including but not limited to securing real and personal property.
Complete necessary applications and forms on behalf of the Wards and Protectees and ensure all bills are appropriately paid with authorization from the Probate Court.
Maintain contact with Wards, Protectees, and their service providers by promptly responding to emails, telephone calls, faxes, and all other correspondence.
Perform other duties as required or assigned.
Qualifications
Equivalent to a Bachelor's Degree and two years of related experience.
Selection & Appointment
A selection committee will evaluate applicants based on education, experience, supplemental responses, employment references, and other relevant information. Those meeting minimum qualifications may be invited for an interview. The interview will constitute 100% of the applicant’s earned grade, and a qualifying grade of 70% or higher is required for advancement. Selected candidates will be asked to complete a Conviction Questionnaire within three days of receiving an email invitation. The five top ranking applicants, based on final grades, will be certified to the Department Director/Appointing Authority for final appointment decisions. Conditional offers will require a drug screening performed by a reputable clinical laboratory, with the cost covered by the County.
