Speech And Hearing Program Director (NS)

As Communications Department Director, you'll lead a dedicated team of speech-language pathologists and a symbol board technician, set departmental goals, and ensure that residents receive exceptional speech, language, and communication services. You'll oversee clinical quality, mentor clinicians in creating innovative, person-centered programs, and promote the effective use of assistive technology. Through hands-on leadership, collaboration, and creative problem-solving, you'll inspire your team to deliver services that enrich communication, independence, and overall quality of life for every resident.
Salary Range: $82,857.00 - $136,714.00
Candidates now meet the minimum qualifications of a position if they meet the minimum education and experience listed on the vacancy announcement. The Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs)/Management Preferences are not required. Applicants who possess the following skills are preferred:
Experience evaluating and treating speech, language, and hearing disorders in adults and/or children with intellectual and developmental disabilities, including work with augmentative and alternative communication devices (AAC).
Experience supervising professional staff, conducting evaluations, and coordinating integrated treatment plans.
Demonstrated success collaborating with interdisciplinary teams (medical, nursing, OT, PT, special education).
Proven experience managing communication and swallowing disorders and understanding their impact on health and safety.
Uses clinical outcomes, quality metrics, and feedback to guide program improvements.
This position is exempt and is exempt from certain provisions of the state human resources act (GS 126). This position is designated as mandatory and must report or stay over during adverse weather events.
Shift hours: Monday – Friday - 8:00 am – 5:00p with variation.
