We are seeking a
District Sales Manager
for the Gulf Coast, who will manage Account Executives in the assigned states of the region. The District Sales Manager will bring strong technical knowledge and a proven track record in leading sales executives with key account relationships in the Single Cell, Spatial Biology, and Next‑Gen Sequencing space.
Responsibilities
Develop, execute and monitor the district business plan to meet assigned revenue and strategic objectives.
Lead, support and motivate the district sales team to achieve agreed targets and objectives.
Forecast, monitor, and control selling and other expenses for the district within assigned budget limits.
Accurately forecast customer demand (product quantities, orders, shipments).
Drive high‑level interaction and engagement with Marketing, Technical Support and other departments to coordinate activities and align on common goals.
Oversee talent acquisition: resource planning, recruitment, and hiring to meet forecasted sales targets.
Implement talent development activities to ensure the sales team has the expertise needed to perform their roles, provide guidance, and support career progression.
Manage performance: set performance standards, realistic job goals, conduct appraisals, and enforce disciplinary action.
Create urgency and accountability within the regional team to meet financial and strategic goals.
Ensure utilization and compliance with Salesforce.com (SFDC) policies.
Collaborate across AMR to drive coordination and alignment on corporate goals, leading cross‑district initiatives with marketing, sales, and senior leadership.
Act as a peer leader and mentor across the District Sales Manager team.
Minimum Qualifications
BA/BS in Life Sciences.
Minimum of 5 years of sales, marketing or equivalent experience in the Life Science industry, including capital equipment sales.
Minimum of 3 years of sales management experience in the Life Science industry.
Experience hiring top talent, building, managing, and motivating sales teams, and setting sales targets.
Skilled in developing and implementing strategic sales strategies, building and maintaining key customer relationships, and leading high‑performing sales teams.
Preferred Skills
Ability to build high‑level relationships.
MS or equivalent degree in Life Sciences; PhD is a plus.
Excellent communication and influencing skills for internal and external audiences.
Strong written and oral English proficiency.
Compensation
Base pay range: $135,200 - $182,900 USD. Additional compensation may include equity grants, comprehensive health and retirement benefits, and annual bonus or sales incentive programs.
