Technical Editor/Writer

12‑month contract position in Grand Prairie, TX. U.S. Citizens only.
Pay: $55 to $61.75 per hour, DOE.
Responsibilities

Write, rewrite, and edit technical documents such as procedure manuals, user manuals, programming manuals, service manuals, and operational specifications to clearly communicate technical instructions.
Acquire subject knowledge through interviewing product developers, observing production methods, and reviewing technical specifications, blueprints, engineering illustrations, and trade journals.
Oversee the preparation of illustrative materials, including selecting drawings, sketches, diagrams, and charts.
Conduct quality reviews of materials.
Job Duties

Editing and writing operating procedures.
Editing and writing acceptance test procedures.
Editing and writing calibration procedures.
Editing and writing installation procedures.
Editing test‑requirements documents.
Supporting review and release processes for documents using Windchill.
Following and supporting configuration‑management for the program.
Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Technical Communication, or related field.
Six or more years of technical writing experience in aerospace, defense, or high‑tech environments.
Prior experience with test‑equipment documentation preferred.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Adobe Acrobat, and PLM systems; Windchill experience required.
Familiarity with ECSS, MIL‑STD, or other aerospace documentation standards.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills and ability to translate complex engineering concepts into clear instructions.
Understanding of change‑control processes and configuration management.
Contractor will work onsite full‑time for the first few weeks, then a hybrid schedule (1–2 days remote).
