Job Summary
Responsible for new business development and relationship management targeting companies with sales of $50 million or greater within the Phoenix, AZ area. Generate revenue by developing and maintaining relationships with identified companies, developers, and managers, generating deal flow directly from these clients/prospects and orchestrating a team approach to the relationship. Supported by product specialists, portfolio managers, and operational support specialists, responsible for all aspects of the relationship.
Job Responsibilities
New Business Origination: Developing and maintaining relationships to generate direct deal flow; coordinating the team approach to approving and closing new deals to grow assets and revenues while optimizing profitability (ROE).
Relationship Management: Working with assigned portfolio managers and engaging borrowers on idea generation and relevant opportunities to expand the relationship, including new client generation, loan production, and fee income related to cross‑sell products.
Credit Quality: Ensuring proactive monitoring of credit quality of the portfolio through timely financial statement gathering, monitoring clients’ compliance with ongoing required reporting, properly analyzing financial information, and taking or recommending appropriate corrective actions.
Maintaining Knowledge: Staying abreast of industry trends and market conditions that could impact the Corporate and Regional Commercial Banking group and the assigned portfolio.
Job Requirements
High School diploma, GED, or foreign equivalent.
10+ years of commercial financing or equivalent lending experience.
Bachelor’s Degree (preferred).
Formal credit training (preferred).
Job Competencies
Established relationships and demonstrated direct origination track record with relevant companies.
Expertise in negotiating, structuring, and closing complex loans.
Proven ability to generate significant cross‑sell revenues.
Cross‑sell banking services including treasury management, interest rate protection, and syndication products (foreign exchange and commodity hedging is a plus).
Early problem recognition, remedial management, and coordination with workout teams as part of ongoing portfolio management.
Keeping management fully informed on all key factors of the bank, portfolio, client relationships, and competitive environment.
Involvement in industry‑related associations, committees, and community service boards outside the bank.
Adherence to all regulatory and compliance issues linked to the role and the team.

Staff is expected to consistently adhere to regulatory and compliance policies, complete required training in a timely manner, and maintain knowledge of all applicable federal, state, and local laws and banking regulations.
