Position Overview

The CBMO Multimedia Producer is responsible for creating and producing a wide range of digital content, including photos, videos, animations, graphics, and interactive media. They manage the entire production process, from initial concept to final delivery, collaborating with various creative teams to bring ideas to life. The role brings exhibit, brand, and event marketing to life through compelling digital storytelling that is responsive to marketing targets and engaging for diverse audiences.
Principal Responsibilities

Project Management and Planning

Conceptualizing and planning: Developing ideas, storyboards, and scripts for multimedia projects.
Budgeting and scheduling: Managing project timelines and ensuring projects stay within budget.
Client collaboration: Working closely with clients and stakeholders to understand their needs and goals.

Production and Execution

Technical skills: Operating video and still cameras, audio equipment, and software such as Adobe Premiere Pro, DaVinci Studio, After Effects.
Collaboration with teams: Working with writers, designers, and other creatives to bring projects to life.
Post-production: Managing editing, sound design, animation, photo editing, and other post-production tasks.

Content Creation

Video production: Filming, editing, and producing video content for various platforms.
Photography: High-end marketing photography for live events and programs, and installation photography for curatorial archives.
Animation and graphics: Creating animated visuals and graphics for projects.

Delivery, Distribution, and Organization

Ensuring quality: Maintaining high standards for multimedia content.
Preparing content for delivery: Optimizing content for different uses and understanding bitrates and standards for social, web, broadcast, and physical playback devices.
Keeping assets organized: Maintaining a dated, organized file structure for easy recall and future use.
Staying updated: Keeping up with the latest multimedia trends, techniques, and technologies.

Core Skills

Content Creation & Production – develop and produce videos, photography, interactive displays, animations, supporting digital exhibitions.
Project Management – plan and manage multimedia projects from concept to completion, including timelines, budgets, and approvals.
Collaboration – work closely with curators, educators, exhibit designers, and marketing teams to align content with curatorial narratives and institutional goals.
Technical Oversight – set up and maintain AV equipment, digital displays, and interactive kiosks; troubleshoot hardware/software issues.
Digital Engagement – produce content for websites, mobile apps, and social media; explore AR/VR for storytelling.
Evaluation & User Feedback – analyze visitor engagement data and feedback to improve multimedia offerings.
Skills & Abilities

Video editing (Adobe Premiere Pro, DaVinci Studio)
Motion graphics (After Effects)
Audio production (Fairlight, Pro Tools)
Strong storytelling, visual communication, and project management skills
Physical Demands and Work Environment

Must be able to stand for prolonged periods, carry equipment, and work in varied lighting conditions. Must be able to lift/carry equipment up to 40 lbs. Requires vision abilities including close vision, color vision, and focus adjustment. Requires frequent use of computers and production equipment. Work is performed in studio settings, in museum galleries, outdoors, and at events. Noise level varies from low to moderate depending on production environment.
