Role Description
This is an on-site, educational internship only role based in Houston, TX for a News Anchor. The News Anchor will be responsible for delivering news broadcasts, reporting live events, and conducting interviews on live television. The role involves reviewing and researching news stories, writing scripts, and collaborating with the production team to ensure comprehensive coverage. The News Anchor will also represent KGTX 7 News at community events and adhere to journalistic standards and ethics.

Qualifications

Skills in Reporting, News Writing, and Broadcast Journalism

Experience in Broadcasting and delivering news segments on-air

Strong presentation and public speaking skills

Ability to work under deadlines and thrive in a fast-paced newsroom environment

Understanding of journalistic ethics and news standards

Proficiency in scriptwriting, organization, and research

Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in Journalism, Mass Communication, Media Studies, or a related field

Time management skills and adaptability to a dynamic news cycle
