Job Summary
The Communication Associate writes and edits content for internal and external company channels. Collaborates with subject matter experts to plan, create, and distribute clear, accurate content to achieve communication goals. Helps keep the Communication team's work organized and supports internal stakeholders by gathering information under established processes.
Responsibilities
Essential functions:
Gathers information to understand communication needs for internal and external audiences.
Researches and organizes details of past and similar communication efforts to support planning.
Writes and edits content in accordance with brand style guidelines, in collaboration with subject matter experts and under direction from project leads.
Seeks and incorporates feedback from multiple stakeholders.
Helps maintain and update internal communication documents including company history, directories, etc. following established guidelines.
Reviews written content for accuracy and compliance with standards prior to publishing.
Communicates with project stakeholders and Communication team members about the status of projects.
Identifies potential issues with projects and escalates risks or delays as needed.
Shares observations and ideas for improving communication planning and execution.
Serves as the back‑up publisher for official company channels.
Non‑essential functions:
Stays up to date with Associated Press Stylebook.
Performs other duties as assigned by supervisor or other designate.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in communication or related field.
Experience in writing, editing, and/or communication.
Required knowledge of PC for Windows, Microsoft Office, internet, and email.
Strong writing, editing, and proofreading skills.
Knowledge of Associated Press Style.
