Summary / Objective
OGI Process Equipment is looking for a Technical Writer to create operating and maintenance manuals, service manuals, and other technical materials for our product lines. The role requires collaboration with Engineering, Sales, Production, QA, and other departments to develop clear, accurate documentation. The successful candidate must have strong communication skills and the ability to manage multiple deadline-driven projects.
Essential Functions
Prepare, review, revise, and maintain technical documents, including operation and maintenance manuals, service manuals, and troubleshooting and repair instructions.
Gather and analyze technical and product information from various sources.
Write, format, edit, review, and proof procedural and technical information for technical and non‑technical users.
Assist in planning, scheduling, and tracking documentation work to meet product release dates and deliverables.
Maintain a library of application documentation and catalogue it for internal and external use.
Publish and maintain templates for written documentation to ensure a consistent look and feel.
Work closely with Engineering, QA, Service, and Sales to incorporate user feedback and operational scenarios into manuals.
Gather information by working with product designers, engineers, marketing, sales, quality, training, and production personnel.
Observe and operate OGI equipment as required for operational understanding.
Schedule conference time between engineers, designers, and production staff, and conduct reviews of product manuals before shipping deadlines.
Manage updates and revisions to all materials.
Conceptualize, plan, create, or edit 3D models, line art, vector drawings, or renderings for inclusion in projects.

Utilize critical reasoning skills.
Requirements
Bachelor's Degree, preferably in a technical field with a focus on English, writing, or communications.
Minimum of 2 years’ experience in Technical Writing and Illustration development.
Experience creating documentation for audiences with various levels of technical skill.
Excellent writing, editing, and communication skills.
Proficiency with Adobe Acrobat, Illustrator, InDesign, Photoshop, and Microsoft Office.
Ability to read diagrams, drawings, schematics, and sketches.
Work Environment
This is a full‑time position in a professional office environment. Employees are required to wear personal protective equipment in the manufacturing facility.
Physical Demands
Employee may lift or move objects up to 25 pounds and is required to remain stationary for extended periods while working on computers.
Travel
No travel is required for this position.
