Prop & Costume Organization at Local Ballet School
The San Diego Academy of Ballet (SDAB) is looking for volunteers to organize their costume and props room. Having volunteers support will allow staff members to allocate more time towards their students.

Opportunity Requirements & Important Notes
Key Responsibilities:

Sorting and categorizing costumes and props

Creating a more functional storage system

Light labeling and inventory organization

General tidying and resetting of the space, discarding when necessary

Volunteers will help SDAB bring order to their costume, props, and performance storage room. Over the years, this space has accumulated a large collection of beautiful costumes and production materials—but it’s time to reorganize it so everything is easier to access, maintain, and use efficiently for their dancers and performances. They’re planning a focused organizing session and would love support with the above tasks.

Required Skills/Experience:

No special experience is needed—just a willingness to help and a good eye for organization. They truly appreciate the support—this helps them keep their productions running at a high level for the dancers, and allows their focus to be with the kids.

Desired Skills/Experience:

Organizational skills, eye for optimizing space

Time Commitment:

One time commitment, 4-6 hours depending on what gets accomplished and how many volunteers attend.

Onboarding Process:

Background check is required. This will be coordinated and completed by SDAB.

Physical Requirements:

Able to move props, lift boxes, and organize. Some items are large or heavier props, so there may be occasional lifting involved. Unfortunately this opportunity is not able to make accommodations for individuals with physical limitations. The space where this project takes place is wheelchair accessible.

Attire:

Clothes that volunteers are comfortable and ok to get dirty in.
