Reader Writer - West Side Campus

Position Summary

Administers accommodations and supports students with disabilities in their courses according to their individual accommodations. Provides instructional support to students and faculty related to accessibility.
Duties & Responsibilities

Provide access to content in the form of notes from course lectures, boards, overheads, movies, videos, Q&A sessions, discussions, and field trips as designated by the student, in the student's preferred writing style and format.
Edit and format class notes to meet the student's processing needs and deliver the notes following DRC policy.
Provide visual support by reading books, handouts, board work, overheads and exams to students who require audio content access.
Type or write student dictation and perform text typing in situations to overcome student barriers with manipulation.
Operate peripheral computer equipment per student accommodation to address specific barriers.
Support students with disabilities in accessing various aspects of the college per direction of the DRC.
Support testing for students, both on campus and virtually.
Support other accessibility‑related projects college wide.
Employees are required to comply with safety regulations, procedures, protocols, OSHA standards, and wear personal protective gear if required.
Perform other related duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications

High School diploma or GED equivalent.
