Transmission Line Engineer

Locations

Atlanta, GA; Peachtree Corners, GA; Tampa, FL; The Woodlands, TX; Denver, CO.

Job Responsibilities

Apply knowledge of transmission line design materials to generate framing drawings, load and dimension drawings, and bills of materials.

Design transmission line projects employing industry‑recognized software packages such as AutoCAD, Civil 3D, FAD Tools, and PLS CADD.

Create drawings and specifications for transmission line construction.

Perform electrical calculations for transmission line system design and studies (Insulation Coordination, OPGW Analysis, Line Ground System Analysis, Line Loss Studies, etc.).

Coordinate with internal project managers and disciplines to ensure project success.

Prepare engineering deliverables, including contract documents and studies.

Ensure adherence to industry standards and best practices.

Manage project budgets, schedules, and quality requirements.

Assist with equipment specifications, bid evaluations, and procurement.

Manage multiple projects simultaneously.

Travel to client sites and industry conferences as needed.

Qualifications

Bachelor of Science (BS) in Civil, Electrical, Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.

Professional Engineering License (PE) or on the path to obtaining a PE.

5+ years of experience in transmission line design.

Familiarity with relevant industry codes, standards, and design software.
