About the Position

This is an exciting role in the energy industry where the electric distribution grid is transforming into a smarter, more resilient, cleaner, and greener grid. Specialists in advanced distribution management will work in a Digital & Operations team to design, implement, and maintain the Advanced Distribution Management System (ADMS). The ADMS platform, used in the Distribution Control Center, provides operators with real‑time awareness and control of the Ameren Distribution electric grid serving over 2.4 million customers.
The platform incorporates SCADA, outage management, distribution management, voltage optimization, and other advanced functions. It is integrated with other corporate systems and technologies for customer outage reporting and field service coordination. The system requires 24x7x365 availability, and the engineer will provide off‑hour support as needed.
Key Responsibilities

Provide technical and user support to system operators, division office workers, engineering staff, and IT personnel.
Develop training and documentation as requested.
Aggregate and model data to create reports and dashboards using PowerBI, SSRS, OBIEE, and other BI tools.
Analyze, recommend, design, plan, test, implement, and support ADMS.
Perform system and data analysis, design software enhancements, test functionality, and maintain application configuration settings.
Assist senior staff in engaging with the ADMS vendor, user groups, and utility peers to incorporate Ameren’s requirements into future releases.
Contribute to technology processes, standards, and methodologies for cloud‑based configuration; identify gaps and develop training plans.
Enable smart grid applications including SCADA, power flow, fault locating, switching, and outage management.
Perform root‑cause analysis and develop action plans for backlog items, leading implementation of short‑ and long‑term solutions where appropriate.
Qualifications – ADMS Engineer

Bachelor’s degree in engineering, mathematics, or computer science.
Three or more years of directly related experience.
Experience with electric power distribution systems and applications such as ADMS, outage analysis, GIS, and electric circuit analysis.
Experience with software development, relational databases, and server
etwork infrastructure.
Qualifications – Senior ADMS Engineer

Bachelor’s degree in engineering, mathematics, or computer science.
Five or more years of relevant experience.
Experience with two or more of the following: electric power distribution, ADMS, outage analysis, GIS, electric circuit analysis, software development, relational databases, server
etwork infrastructure.
Qualifications – Lead ADMS Engineer

Bachelor’s degree in engineering, mathematics, or computer science.
Seven or more years of relevant experience.
Experience with three or more of the following: electric power distribution, ADMS, outage analysis, GIS, electric circuit analysis, software development, relational databases, server
etwork infrastructure.

Ameren’s selection process includes a series of interviews and may include a leadership assessment. Specific details will be provided to qualified candidates.
Compensation Range: $84,400.00 – $204,400.00. The range varies by role level and applicant credentials. The base salary is one component of a competitive compensation package. Roles are eligible for additional rewards, such as annual incentive payments based on individual and company performance.
