Position Summary
The Unit Director coordinates and directs the clinical and other unit activities necessary to provide quality patient care. Provides leadership to facilitate staff development and productive working relationships within the health care team.
Qualifications
A. Education:
Holds a current Texas permit or license as a Registered Nurse (RN) required upon hire or transfer to the department. Bachelor’s degree in nursing (BSN) is required upon hire or transfer to the department. A Master's degree in nursing preferred.
B. Training and Experience:
1. Current BLS through the American Heart Association is required upon hire or transfer to the department.
2. Full-time status. Minimum of three (3) years full-time RN experience. Prefer minimum one (1) year leadership experience in a defined leadership role.
3. Successful completion of general and nursing orientation within 3 months of hire.
4. Completion of the following competencies within three (3) months of hire or transfer:
Leadership: professional standards, ensuring policies and procedures are incorporated into quality care, delegation, decision‑making, conflict management
Facilitate development of nursing personnel
