Position Description
Senior Media Relations Manager, Technology + Ecosystem
Accenture is looking for a dynamic public relations professional to manage integrated global media relations efforts related to Accenture’s Technology business by leveraging major marketing campaigns, thought leadership, successful client engagements, joint ecosystem partner initiatives, and the expertise of senior management across the business.
Responsibilities include:
- Lead communications strategy and oversee execution of external media campaigns to drive visibility for Accenture’s global Technology business by developing themes and messaging that align with marketing plans and overall industry trends.
- Manage an editorial calendar for thought leadership launches, regular byline contributions, client and third‑party announcements, navigating potential internal news conflicts.
- Advise executive leadership on media relations strategy and messaging.
- Align media activities with the company’s global brand and relevant marketing teams’ goals.
- Write and edit news releases in collaboration with relevant marketing leads, business leads, and media colleagues.
- Influence content development and thought leadership produced by the marketing team and Accenture Research to reinforce leadership in Technology.
- Coordinate with ecosystem partners on announcements and media opportunities.
- Negotiate and build consensus to resolve complex challenges across internal teams and with alliance partners and clients.
- Create compelling messaging and differentiated positioning to set Accenture apart from competitors.
- Monitor competitive media landscape and share insights to improve Accenture’s position in the industry.
- Conduct and analyse market, competitor and influencer research to inform positioning and communication plans.
- Manage professional relationships with key journalists and ecosystem peers.

Compensation varies by location and experience. Salary ranges are:
- California: $132,500 to $271,000
- Cleveland: $122,700 to $216,800
- Colorado: $132,500 to $234,100
- District of Columbia: $141,100 to $249,300
- Illinois: $122,700 to $234,100
- Maryland: $132,500 to $234,100
- Massachusetts: $132,500 to $249,300
- Minnesota: $132,500 to $234,100
- New York: $122,700 to $271,000
- New Jersey: $141,100 to $271,000
- Washington: $141,100 to $249,300
Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent four‑year university degree.
- Minimum of 12 years’ experience in media relations or corporate communications (corporate or agency experience preferred).
Preferred Qualifications
- Excellent written and oral communication skills; superior writing capabilities required.
- Strong background in enterprise technology.
- Ability to simplify complex technical topics into clear, concise media materials.
- Detailed knowledge of the media relations process and Accenture’s media policies.
- Broad understanding of strategic marketing and communications across functional areas.
- Experience building and maintaining high‑value relationships with Tier One media.
- Budget management and financial reporting skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects under tight deadlines.
- Strong diplomacy, negotiation and conflict‑management skills.
- Executive‑level influence within Accenture’s matrixed organization.
- Overall business acumen and knowledge of Accenture’s business areas.
- Strong teaming skills and ability to work autonomously while integrating with other teams.
- Familiarity with AI tools and social media preferred.
