Role Overview
Skanska is searching for a dynamic Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) Director. The position focuses on integrating EHS services into business practices and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements. The EHS Director will oversee all OU/Regional business activities related to environmental health & safety services, interacting with EHS staff, superintendents, project managers, and senior operating unit leaders.
Responsibilities
- Integrate environmental health & safety services into business practices.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Oversee all OU/Regional business activities related to environmental health & safety services.
- Interact directly with EHS staff, superintendents, project managers, project executives, area safety directors, operating unit EVP’s and general managers.
- Manage projects, including full‑time EHS Director roles for larger projects.
Required Qualifications
- 10+ years of experience in a role assigned to the identification of safety hazards and recommending appropriate controls.
- 10+ years of experience in a safety role that required communication with employees at all levels in a construction environment.
- OSHA 30 certification.
- 2+ years of experience managing direct reports.
- Strong written communication skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
- Bachelor's degree in construction management, safety management, engineering, or equivalent, OR 10 years of safety experience.
