Position Overview
We are expanding our presence in the US, Canada, and the Caribbean. This market‑defining role is for a high‑performing individual contributor who thrives on strategic, high‑impact selling, with a strong focus on expansion within existing accounts and new business development. As an Account Director, you will act as the CEO of your own portfolio, drive revenue growth across enterprise accounts ($1B+), manage the full account lifecycle, and leverage internal teams to deliver exceptional results.
Key Responsibilities
- Drive revenue growth: Own the full sales cycle for new and existing accounts, including complex enterprise deals with long sales cycles.
- Be the CEO of your accounts: Manage resources, orchestrate stakeholders, and strategically leverage internal teams to deliver results.
- Strategic account management: Lead and execute account plans, expand customer relationships, and identify opportunities to grow within accounts.
- Innovative selling: Adopt a solutions‑selling mindset, proactively source new business opportunities, and creatively solve hiring challenges.
- Coach and influence: Guide internal teams and stakeholders to adopt best practices, ensuring consistency in account execution.
- Insights‑driven execution: Provide detailed reporting, insights, and analysis of your accounts and pipeline to inform business decisions.
- Market expertise: Stay ahead of industry trends, understand the competitive landscape, and use insights to drive strategic advantage.

Required Experience / Skills
- 10+ years in enterprise sales/account management, ideally in technology, GRC, or related sectors.
- Strategic thinker: Align solutions to business objectives and navigate complex sales cycles independently.
- Influencer and relationship builder: Engage senior leaders and stakeholders across all levels.
- Self‑starter: Manage your own portfolio, make decisions, and drive results without constant oversight.
- Analytical and data‑driven: Deliver detailed insights and strategic recommendations.
- Outbound expertise: Proactively source, creatively outreach, and generate pipeline.
- Team collaborator: Leverage cross‑functional support while confidently running your own accounts.
U.S. pay range: $131,000 – $164,000 USD
Hybrid Work Model
Although Diligent is headquartered in New York, this role will follow a hybrid work model. If you are within commuting distance to one of our Diligent office locations, you will be expected to work onsite at least 50% of the time.
