Associate Director, Influencer & Social Media Marketing

About the role
As the Associate Director of Influencer & Social Media Marketing, you will champion Takeda’s culture and values, building an industry‑leading influencer program for a new dermatology product launch to deepen patient engagement, build trust, and elevate brand awareness. The role involves building strategic partnerships with creators, establishing a robust community, developing platform‑native content at scale, collaborating across cross‑functional teams and leadership, and ensuring maximum impact through influencer guidelines and processes.
How You Will Contribute
- Develop and own KPI‑driven influencer strategies aligning with brand strategic imperatives and patient insights, ensuring an integrated approach across consumer marketing, digital marketing, and media mix.
- Identify, recruit, and nurture strong relationships with influencers, creators, celebrities, and HCP digital opinion leaders who share Takeda’s mission and values.
- Oversee the creative development of platform‑native influencer content at scale for social platforms and extend that content across channels and live activation opportunities.
- Lead the development of influencer guidelines and processes, educating and collaborating across all levels of the organization to gain alignment and generate excitement for the program.
- Plan and run influencer summit meetings to gather insights and co‑create content that activates the patient community through authentic personal storytelling.
- Partner closely with the consumer omnichannel strategy lead to ensure continuity and integration of influencer marketing within the broader digital ecosystem.
- Partner closely with the consumer marketing strategy lead to integrate patient ambassador branded testimonials into the influencer program.
- Facilitate the development of scopes of work and partnership agreements, ensuring adherence to industry regulations, privacy laws, disclosures, and Takeda’s policies and guidelines.
- Develop and lead influencer onboarding, training, and governance processes related to programming, compliant content creation, fair balance, disclosure requirements, adverse event reporting, and risk mitigation.
- Serve as a key liaison with Legal, Ethics & Compliance, Regulatory, Medical, and Pharmacovigilance to proactively manage risk and maintain brand safety.
- Manage performance of influencer initiatives, tracking ROI, brand safety, sentiment, reach, engagement, and audience impact.
- Continuously optimize influencer mix, platform selection, creative strategy, and budget allocation based on insights and learning.
Minimum Qualifications
- Minimum BS/BA degree.
- 7+ years of experience in consumer marketing, digital/social media marketing, and/or public relations, with at least 3+ years focused on managing influencer programs and 3+ years in pharma/healthcare.
- Demonstrated success building social & digital ecosystems and managing social influencer programs for pharmaceutical and consumer brands that drive measurable outcomes.
- Extensive knowledge of TikTok, Instagram, and YouTube ecosystems and U.S.-based creator culture.
- Experience managing agencies, influencer platforms, and analytics tools.
- Strong familiarity with healthcare compliance, privacy laws, and regulatory requirements.
- Experience with contract negotiation, partner onboarding, and content governance.
- Excellent project management and communication skills and experience managing cross‑functional relationships.
- Proven track record of influencing, aligning, and inspiring cross‑functional stakeholders at all levels, building trust and cultivating strong relationships to achieve shared goals.
- Results‑driven mindset with a high level of ownership, urgency, and resilience, consistently delivering on commitments while navigating obstacles and evolving business needs.
- Demonstrated ability to use data, insights, and structured analysis to inform decisions, challenge assumptions, and recommend evidence‑based actions.

Desired Qualifications
- MS/MBA degree.
- Prior pharmaceutical launch experience.
- Commercial experience in dermatology or immunology (e.g., psoriasis).

Takeda Compensation and Benefits Summary
U.S. Base Salary Range: $154,400.00 – $242,550.00 (actual base salary offered may vary with qualifications, experience, skills, education, and location). The salary range reflects anticipated compensation for the position. U.S. based employees may also be eligible for short‑term and/or long‑term incentives, medical, dental, vision insurance, a 401(k) plan with company match, short‑term and long‑term disability coverage, basic life insurance, a tuition reimbursement program, paid volunteer time off, company holidays, and well‑being benefits. U.S. employees are eligible for up to 80 hours of sick time per calendar year and new hires may accrue up to 120 hours of paid vacation per year.
