Bridgewater United Methodist Church is seeking a skilled and collaborative Music Director to lead our music ministry and serve as principal accompanist (piano and/or organ) for worship.
Responsibilities
- Planning worship music in collaboration with the Senior Pastor
- Directing the Adult Choir, Children’s Choir, and Bell Choir
- Providing musical leadership and coordination for the Praise Band
- Providing piano and/or organ accompaniment for Sunday worship and special services
- Leading weekly rehearsals
- Preparing music for seasonal services (Advent, Christmas, Lent, Holy Week, Easter, etc.)
- Recruiting and nurturing volunteer musicians
Qualifications
- Strong choral conducting skills
- Proficiency in piano and organ accompaniment
- Experience working with children, adults, and diverse musical styles
- Ability to lead both traditional and contemporary music settings
- Strong organizational and collaborative skills
- Commitment to the mission and ministry of the church
This is a 20-hour-per-week position. Sunday mornings and weekday/evening rehearsals are required.
