- Proficiency with Adobe Illustrator, After Effects, Figma, and Google Slides
- Comfort working at pace in a fast-moving environment with competing priorities
- Portfolio requirements: We're looking for a portfolio that demonstrates your skills in illustration, icon design, presentation decks, and UI design, along with examples of animation and videography
What the job involves
- We're looking for a Creative Director to lead a small but mighty team of Digital Designers embedded within Workato's Product Design team
- Your team sits at the intersection of product and brand — acting as the creative bridge between Workato's global product organization and its customers. You'll define and steward Workato's creative identity across a wide range of surfaces: from YouTube videos and conference decks to in-product illustrations, icons and documentation design. The work is varied, the impact is visible, and the standard is high
- This is a player-coach role. You'll manage the workload and growth of your team while staying personally hands-on with design work. A big part of what makes this role work is stakeholder management — you'll field inbound requests from across the company, align on priorities with leaders in product and marketing, and make sure your team's work lands well with the people it's made for
- You're energized by both the people side and the creative side, and you understand that the best design managers are still great designers
- If you love working on complex visual problems, have a sharp eye for craft, and thrive in a fast-moving, cross-functional environment — you'll fit right in
- Lead, manage, and mentor a team of Digital Designers — owning their workload, prioritization, and professional growth
- Stay hands-on with design work: take on complex creative tasks directly, set the quality bar, and model the standard for your team
- Develop and evolve Workato's visual creative identity, keeping it synergetic with the Workato brand language and product design system
- Own the design and delivery of a wide range of content, including YouTube videos for Product Hour, presentation decks for customer-facing roadmap sessions and conferences, and digital marketing campaigns
- Own the design and delivery of in-product assets, including product illustrations, icons and Pendo guides
- Own the design and delivery of assets for Workato's product blog and documentation website — illustrations, GIFs for blog articles, visual assets for product docs pages, and the website design for our documentation site
- Manage stakeholder relationships across product, marketing, and leadership — fielding inbound requests, setting expectations, aligning on priorities, and ensuring your team's work serves the right goals at the right time
- Collaborate with Product Management and product-led growth teams across Workato's global workforce
- Participate in design critiques, iterate on feedback, and contribute to a culture of high craft across the broader Product Design team
- Keep up with industry standards and continually refine and innovate on Workato's product perception and creative language
- Own processes and streamline workload distribution for your team
- Use collaborative tools like Slack, Figma, Jira, and Adobe Creative Cloud to work closely with colleagues across different projects and time zones
