Overview

EDSA is seeking a visionary Design Director of Horticulture & Biodiversity to lead planting design strategy and ecological innovation across our global portfolio. This director-level, firmwide resource role blends artistic design excellence with deep horticultural and ecological expertise while shaping resilient, biodiverse landscapes at every scale.

What You’ll Do

  • Lead planting-driven design concepts from vision through implementation.
  • Champion biodiversity, climate adaptation, and regenerative planting strategies.
  • Guide firmwide standards for horticulture, soil health, and ecological performance.
  • Oversee planting plans and technical development for complex/high‑profile projects.
  • Mentor designers and inspire cross‑disciplinary collaboration.
  • Represent EDSA in publications, conferences, and client engagements.

What We’re Looking For

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s in Landscape Architecture, Horticulture, Ecology, or related field.
  • 10+ years of experience in planting design and biodiversity integration.
  • Proven leadership on complex, design‑forward projects.
  • Strong portfolio and software proficiency.
  • Certifications such as RLA, ISA, CPH, LEED AP, or SITES AP preferred.
  • Ability to travel as needed.
