EDSA is seeking a visionary Design Director of Horticulture & Biodiversity to lead planting design strategy and ecological innovation across our global portfolio. This director-level, firmwide resource role blends artistic design excellence with deep horticultural and ecological expertise while shaping resilient, biodiverse landscapes at every scale.
What You’ll Do
- Lead planting-driven design concepts from vision through implementation.
- Champion biodiversity, climate adaptation, and regenerative planting strategies.
- Guide firmwide standards for horticulture, soil health, and ecological performance.
- Oversee planting plans and technical development for complex/high‑profile projects.
- Mentor designers and inspire cross‑disciplinary collaboration.
- Represent EDSA in publications, conferences, and client engagements.

What We’re Looking For
- Bachelor’s or Master’s in Landscape Architecture, Horticulture, Ecology, or related field.
- 10+ years of experience in planting design and biodiversity integration.
- Proven leadership on complex, design‑forward projects.
- Strong portfolio and software proficiency.
- Certifications such as RLA, ISA, CPH, LEED AP, or SITES AP preferred.
- Ability to travel as needed.
