ACR’s Government Relations Department is seeking a Congressional Affairs Director for its Washington DC office. The successful candidate will be an enthusiastic, dependable, and team‑oriented player who has considerable healthcare policy and political experience preferably with membership organizations. Capitol Hill and/or related agency experience is a plus. Some travel and public speaking opportunities will be available.

Responsibilities

  • Identify and monitor legislative and regulatory issues.
  • Establish and maintain relationships with congressional offices.
  • Draft letters, articles, and advocacy materials.
  • Attend meetings and congressional fund‑raisers.
  • Deliver presentations at events and actively contribute in meetings.
  • Communicate complex policy initiatives to Congress and organizational leadership.
  • Collaborate with PR teams to craft and share non‑partisan, informational social media content.

Qualifications

  • 10+ years of related experience in governmental or congressional affairs, with at least 2 years in a healthcare membership organization.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proven multitasking abilities.
  • Ability to travel.

While working a hybrid schedule, qualified candidates must live in the DC, Maryland, or Virginia area and maintain a flexible schedule around ACR’s operating hours of 8:30 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. (EDT). When working remotely, employees must be self‑motivated, possess excellent time management, and be highly organized. A reliable internet connection is a must.

Compensation: A reasonable estimate of the annual compensation range for this position is $132,950 – $186,150, plus a comprehensive benefits package including a defined‑contribution pension plan, 403(b) plan, generous paid time‑off package, insurance plans, flexible spending accounts, tuition reimbursement, training opportunities, and wellness reimbursement.
