Position Overview
Associate Public Affairs Policy Director works on complex issues requiring in-depth knowledge of the company and its long‑term ambitions. Develops policy positions aligning with enterprise strategy, manages relationships with government agencies, and serves as a subject matter expert.
Responsibilities
- Achieve deep understanding and serve as subject matter expert on assigned policy areas.
- Analyze business impact of policy proposals through coordination with other departments.
- Develop and communicate NNI’s policy positions in line with enterprise strategy.
- Communicate with federal agencies on corporate positions.
- Educate and enable broader Market Access and Public Affairs teams.
- Build and maintain strategic internal and external relationships.
- Advocate for NNI priorities and industry trade associations.
Relationships
- Reports to Market Access & Public Affairs Director and interacts with senior leaders.
- Collaborates with internal teams: Operations, Finance, Medical, Legal, Compliance, Communications, etc.
- Maintains relationships with select federal agencies and policymakers.
Physical Requirements
10–20% overnight travel.
Position can be based in Washington, DC or Plainsboro, NJ.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree preferred.
- 10+ years of policy development, advocacy, or government affairs experience.
- Experience with the 340B program required.
- Pharmaceutical/healthcare industry experience and knowledge of NNI therapeutic areas preferred.
- Strong executive presence, communication, and presentation skills.
- Strong writing skills for executive audiences.
- Demonstrated career progression and strategic planning ability.
- Experience working in a matrixed organization.
Compensation and Benefits
Base salary range: $152,700 to $267,300, plus bonus and long‑term incentive options.
