Job Description
We are looking for an experienced and passionate Associate Producer/Writer to join our team in New York. In this role you will be part of a flexible team producing fast‑paced news programming on weekdays and weekends, writing and producing content for highly rated shows and supporting wall‑to‑wall breaking news coverage as events unfold. The position offers a strong career path for Associate Producers moving into line producer roles. Flexibility is essential, as schedules may vary based on production needs.
Responsibilities
- Write and produce content for two or more daily news programs
- Write scripts, teases, and copy for broadcasts
- Produce live shots and guest segments
- Collaborate with producers and control‑room staff during live broadcasts
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in journalism or a related field of study preferred, or equivalent experience
- Experience in a national or large‑market local newsroom
- Excellent writing, producing, and communication skills
- Solid news judgment and an outstanding grasp of politics, history, geography, and current events
- Ability to write in a clear, engaging, and conversational style that makes news stories accessible, compelling, and relevant to viewers
- Substantial control‑room and breaking‑news experience
- Strong team player who can work under tight deadlines and adapt quickly to changing priorities
- Flexibility to work daytime and weekend shifts
- Creativity and “outside the box” thinking

Salary
Pay range: $67,000.00 – $75,000.00 annually, dependent on education, skills, experience, and location.
