Are you a creative, motivated student with a passion for visual storytelling, video production, and graphic
design? Do you want real-world experience that goes beyond the classroom - work that actually moves the
needle for a university you care about? We're looking for a Student Marketing Specialist focused on Design
& Multimedia to join our team and help shape the visual identity of how Stony Brook connects with alumni
and donors. You'll be embedded in our fundraising operation, producing graphics, videos, and visual assets
that our student ambassadors and team rely on every day. Your work will be seen, used, and felt - in real
time.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Graphic Design
• Design graphics, layouts, and visual assets for email marketing, social media, and print
materials
• Develop templates and maintain brand consistency across all creative materials
• Collaborate with the writing team to pair compelling copy with strong visuals
• Build and maintain a library of reusable design assets inside our resource hub
Video & Multimedia
• Shoot, edit, and produce short-form video content for social media, email, and donor-
facing campaigns
• Capture photography and b-roll at campus events and student ambassador activities
• Edit interview footage and storytelling content into polished, on-brand pieces
• Assist with storyboarding and creative direction for video series and campaigns
Marketing & Engagement Support
• Support media planning and scheduling across platforms
• Brainstorm creative ideas for campaigns,series, and engagement strategies
• Assist with visual updates to webpages, newsletters, and digital communication
materials
General
• Represent ion Philanthropy and Stony Brook University with professionalism and
enthusiasm
• Maintain accuracy, attention to detail, and confidentiality in all work
• Meet project deadlines and collaborate effectively with team members
Qualifications
• Currently enrolled student in good academic standing
• Strong skills in graphic design, videography, video editing, or photography
• Experience with tools such as Adobe Premiere Pro, Final Cut, Canva, Adobe Illustrator,
Photoshop, or similar platforms (preferred)
• Strong visual storytelling sense and eye for design
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment
• Reliable, punctual, and organized
• A creative mindset with a genuine passion for digital media, marketing, and making an
impact
Schedule
• Part-time, hourly position

Portfolio Submission Requirements
Applicants must submit a portfolio of work showcasing creative abilities. Personal and
professional work is welcome. Portfolios should include samples relevant to design and
multimedia, such as:
• Video projects
• Photography
• Social media visual content
• Motion graphics or animation (if applicable)
• Graphic design samples
