Editorial Manager

Million Dollar Round Table (MDRT) seeks an Editorial Manager to lead the ideation and creation of MDRT’s content and has responsibility for the strategy and day-to-day management of MDRT’s bimonthly global publication, Round the Table magazine. The Editorial Manager reports to the Content Development Director.

The specialist works closely with MDRT staff across all departments, as well as various vendors, to develop event websites, communications, digital design assets, meeting signage and the look and feel for MDRT meetings and events:

Responsibilities include:

Lead senior content specialists in ideation and creation of MDRT’s content.

Responsible for the strategy, planning, content development and publishing of Round the Table magazine.

Lead the content team’s role in the Member Resources and Top of the Table Practice Management committees.

Manage editorial team, to include senior content specialists serving MDRT’s content.

Assist in developing and editing written content for various media, including websites, e-newsletters, blogs and print materials as needed.

The ideal candidate will have the following:

Bachelor's degree or higher in communications, journalism or related field

Minimum three years of experience successfully guiding, monitoring and leading a team

Strong research and interviewing skills

Excellent communication skills and the ability to present ideas clearly and concisely.

Excellent writing, rewriting, editing and proofreading skills (AP Style and house guide)

Solid grounding in journalism ethics and values

Flexibility in creativity, responsiveness to feedback, and a willingness to rework ideas or develop new ones

Comfort with learning and using new technology

Ability to prep and adjust magazine content (ex: headlines, SEO keywords) for both print and digital publishing

Experience collaborating with vendors and managing those relationships

Experience with developing content for global audiences is a plus

Willingness to learn about the financial services profession
