Account Executive, Screening Sales

About the Role
Guardant Health is a precision oncology company working to improve patient outcomes through advanced blood and tissue tests, real-world data, and AI analytics. As a field‑based Account Executive, you will promote the SHIELD colorectal cancer (CRC) blood test to primary care providers, collaborating with sales leadership and cross‑functional teams to launch groundbreaking screening technologies.
Key Responsibilities
Achieve sales targets through prospecting, relationship‑building, and executing national sales strategies.
Target and engage healthcare providers, securing commitment to adopt the SHIELD test for CRC and other cancers.
Use challenger selling to understand provider needs and demonstrate how Guardant products improve patient outcomes and streamline practice workflow.
Provide in‑depth product knowledge and training to primary care practices, ensuring smooth integration of SHIELD into their workflow.
Collaborate with clinical, marketing, and product teams to align sales strategies and share feedback.
Identify new business opportunities and foster collaborations with regional and local laboratories to expand reach and ensure phlebotomy draw agreements.
Develop and execute business plans supporting successful launch of new screening technologies.
Monitor competitive landscape, analyze market trends, and share insights with the Commercial Team.
Support healthcare providers across the sales process, maintaining exceptional customer service and resolving issues proactively.
Ensure compliance with company policies, industry standards, and regulations while managing multiple projects and deadlines.
Qualifications
Experience: Minimum 4 years of customer‑facing sales experience in diagnostics, medical device, or pharmaceutical sales, or minimum 2 years plus direct clinical experience as a registered nurse or physician assistant, with a proven track record of success.
Preferred: Experience with diagnostic products, especially blood‑based testing or cancer screening products, and familiarity with the primary care landscape.
Sales Expertise: Demonstrated ability to engage in selling conversations, overcome objections, and align client needs with products; preferred experience planning and executing product launches in healthcare or diagnostics.
Product Knowledge: Strong understanding of the healthcare provider landscape and the ability to quickly learn and apply technical product knowledge.
Communication Skills: Exceptional oral and written skills, and ability to present complex information understandably.
CRM Proficiency: Experience with Salesforce, Veeva, or similar platforms.
Customer Service Excellence: Superior negotiation, problem‑solving, and relationship‑building skills, with a focus on long‑term partnership.

Personal Requirements
Valid driver’s license with a clean record.
Travel flexibility: Ability to travel daily within the territory and occasionally for national meetings.
US Location Base Pay Range: $116,000 - $133,000
Hybrid Work Model
Eligible onsite employees will work from the office on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays; remaining days are flexible work‑from‑home. Employees living within 50 miles of a Guardant facility are required to be onsite on those days.
Employee may be required to lift routine office supplies and use office equipment. The majority of the work is performed in a desk/office environment with potential exposure to high noise levels, fumes, and biohazard material in the laboratory environment. Ability to sit for extended periods of time is required.
