Shopify Developer - Ecommerce Site Build (Contract)
The site is for an early‑stage consumer brand launching their first online store and looking for a Full Stack Shopify Developer to design and build the ecommerce site from the ground up. This is a project‑based engagement with a transparent scope: deliver a launch‑ready storefront.
Responsibilities

Design and develop a custom Shopify theme from scratch
Build a mobile‑first, visually polished storefront with smooth interactions
Deliver a unique, on‑brand shopping experience end‑to‑end
Integrate essential apps: reviews, email/SMS, subscriptions, loyalty, analytics, and shipping
Optimize site speed and SEO for organic growth
Build a high‑converting product page with smart upsells and cross‑sells
Set up checkout, payments, and tax/shipping logic for Canadian and US customers
Implement tracking and analytics
Ensure the site is accessible, responsive, and works seamlessly across all devices
Hand off clean documentation so the team can manage the site post‑launch

Easy checkout optimized for conversion
Built‑in tools for influencer codes, gifting, and referral programs

Requirements

2+ years of Shopify development experience
Background working with DTC consumer brands
Proven track record building conversion‑optimized ecommerce sites
Strong design sensibility and creative instincts
Experience integrating third‑party apps and analytics tools
Self‑starter who can manage a project end‑to‑end
