Bottoms Designer, Wholesale Apparel

We are looking for a Bottoms Designer to assist the Senior Designer with the execution of vision, style, and aesthetic for our womenswear brands.
Responsibilities

Assist in product development at all stages under guidance of senior designer: sketching, detail sketches, tech packs, line sheets, trend research, presentation boards, etc.
Coordinate samples: check in prototype and sale samples, track, organize and archive.
Help maintain fabric assortment for each season.
Assist in generating and updating line sheets.
Research to identify new trends.
Oversee the research and development of new styles.
Understand the customer by doing market research.
Develop comprehensive knowledge of the customer and competition.
Shop the retail floor.
Adhere to due dates for all stages of design.
Adjust to changing business needs.
Adjust to time and action calendar changes.
Send out and follow up on packages for overseas vendors.
Coordinate sample requests from sales and marketing.
Attend fittings with production and technical design.
Work with design, sales and production to effectively communicate departmental needs and design requests.
Participate in group meetings and trend shopping.
Requirements

Bachelor’s Degree in Design or related field.
Minimum 4 years of relevant experience.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Strong interpersonal skills.
Computer proficiency in Word Office Suite, Photoshop and Adobe Illustrator.
Knowledge of Centric PLM a plus.
Sewing skills; ability to work basic sewing/pressing equipment.
Must have a good sense of color and print.
Excellent follow-up skills and ability to meet deadlines.
Salary Range: 75K-95K. Actual base salary for this role within the above range will be based upon experience, qualifications and/or assigned unit.
