Role Overview
The Commercial Category Manager oversees category performance by integrating commercial strategy, innovation planning, and execution excellence. This role drives profitable growth through category analysis, stakeholder alignment, and successful market implementation of new initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
Commercial Management
Lead category strategy development and execution across channels
Monitor category sales, profitability, and overall business performance
Analyze market trends, shopper insights, and competitor activity
Prioritize commercial levers to maximize category growth and market share
Manage category budgets and financial performance targets
Align pricing and portfolio strategies with RGM and commercial teams
Stakeholder & Governance Management
Influence leadership teams to support category priorities and investments
Facilitate strategic alignment meetings with cross-functional teams
Ensure smooth execution of category initiatives through structured governance routines
Coordinate with regional and local stakeholders to align business priorities
Drive collaboration between Marketing, Sales, and Operations teams
Innovation & Launch Execution
Lead planning and execution of product commercialization initiatives
Create launch plans, sales presentations, and product sell-in strategies
Coordinate development of POSM materials and launch communications
Ensure operational readiness including production, materials, and deployment planning l
Support system readiness and employee engagement activities for product launches
Collaborate with channel teams on below-the-line (BTL) support programs
