The Coordinator, Marketing & Graphic Design will work under the direction of the Director, Marketing & Public Relations within the Foodbank’s marketing department to execute all graphic design and photography needs across the organization. This position requires a high level of creativity, vision and inspiration while being able to manage multiple concurrent projects with various timelines. Organizational skills and attention to detail are also key elements for success in this position.
Shift M-F, 8am-4pm. Salary range $40k-$50k based upon experience.
Job Responsibilities
In collaboration with team members and with guidance from Foodbank leaders, design a full range of print and digital communications – including newsletters, annual reports, flyers and related collateral – using industry standard software such as Adobe Creative Suite. Projects may include quick updates to existing templates as well as longer-term assignments developed from concept to completion, ensuring all materials are visually cohesive, on-brand and effectively communicate organizational messaging.
Support the development of compelling fundraising and awareness campaign assets from concept to completion, including digital and print materials that effectively communicate campaign goals, inspire community engagement and align with organizational branding.
Design and produce all event-related materials from initial concept through final execution, including invitations, signage, social graphics and supporting collateral, ensuring a cohesive visual experience that reinforces event messaging and overall brand identity, working from established concepts and/or in collaboration with team members.
Prepare final files for print production and digital distribution, including any pre-press processing, proper file formatting, proofing and version control.
Design and produce engaging social media graphics that communicate key messages, strengthen brand identity and support outreach and engagement goals across digital platforms as needed.
Capture and edit high-quality photography at various locations for use across newsletters, annual reports and a wide range of communications materials, ensuring images are compelling, on-message and aligned with the organization’s brand standards.
Apply and maintain brand guidelines across all materials, ensuring consistency in typography, color, imagery and messaging.
Assist in organizing and auditing all Foodbank digital assets using the Foodbank’s digital asset management tool, Canto.
Make occasional updates to the Foodbank’s website and event registration platforms.
Assist in producing and ordering standard items needed for staff members such as business cards, name tags, office nameplates, notecards, letterhead and envelopes.
Support special event activities including setup, staffing and teardown on occasional evenings and weekends.
Independently manage special projects as assigned and perform other duties as required.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree, preferably in graphic design or marketing
2+ years of graphic design and marketing experience; sharing portfolio of work required upon application
Proficiency in Microsoft Office products as well as industry standard software such as Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop and InDesign)
Experience with HTML and CSS coding for email layout and website design is a plus
Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment, using strong project and time management skills to meet deadlines and deliver high-quality work while incorporating feedback from internal stakeholders to revise designs accordingly
Demonstrate a high level of initiative and self-direction while staying organized, detail-oriented and focused on achieving results
Maintain a customer service mindset, ensuring responsiveness, accuracy and clear communication across all projects and teams
Exhibit excellent interpersonal, analytical and professional skills; successfully work with a wide variety of individuals on various teams
Ability and willingness to travel primarily within the Foodbank’s eight-county service region but also including occasional out-of-town conferences, seminars or workshops.
Ability to follow All American Institute of Baking, Feeding America, Food and Drug Administration, United States Department of Agriculture, Occupational Safety Hazard Administration, and Foodbank (standard operating procedures and employee handbook) standards and safety regulations.
