News Anchor/Multimedia Journalist

The News Anchor/Multimedia Journalist will write, script-edit, and deliver news stories daily, collaborating closely with producers to ensure accurate presentation on Telemundo Arizona newscasts.
Responsibilities

Present newscasts to the viewer in a professional and well-articulated manner, including breaking news during live reports, special community coverage, and reports.
Prepare and produce live segments that enhance journalism and build segments with information that provides substance to studio and field reporting.
Be informed and prepared to present different topics and stories during the day to engage and deliver coverage with excellence and integrity.
Conduct research to write and present stories that interest the viewer.
Shoot, write, and edit stories/packages as needed, when conditions permit, to attract viewer interest.
Draft stories, headlines, teases, and news updates for television, online, and digital platforms.
Work directly with E.P. and News Producer on story ideas and development.
Show up to editorial and station meetings on time and provide input that enhances product delivery for the target audience.
Present a completed story with fair, accurate, and community-relevant content.
Coordinate, organize, and conduct interviews.
Develop ongoing sweeps-style stories that abide by Telemundo Arizona’s news standards, vision, and brand.
Adhere to the company mission, vision, and standards.
Abide by the NBC - Telemundo News Standards and Guidelines.
Actively share news content on social media platforms.
Follow NBC - Telemundo social media policies and standards.
Maintain a professional image online and on any social media platform that reflects NBC’s reputation.
Make appearances before social and civic groups and at schools and colleges on behalf of the station.
Invest in personal growth as an individual contributor and understand the critical role of a news anchor in newsroom leadership.
Model positive cultural environment expected in the team.
Qualifications

Bachelor’s or equivalent degree.
At least four years of television anchor/reporter experience.
At least four years of experience shooting, writing, and editing with a strong track record.
Strong Spanish language skills (verbal and written).
Enterprise reporting experience.
Strong live reporting presence.
Ability to multitask and possess strong organizational skills.
Ability to work under pressure in a fast‑paced news environment.

Eligibility Requirements

Must submit a resume/CV and demo reel.
Must be willing to work in the Phoenix, Arizona area.
Must be willing to submit to a background investigation.
Must be 18 years or older.
Must have a valid driver’s license and an excellent driving record.
Must possess excellent Spanish skills (speak, read, write).
Must provide a reel/portfolio of work examples, and if available include a web address.
Must be able to participate in community, public events, and/or serve as Master of Ceremonies as requested by the station.
Must have flexibility in work schedule.
Must have unrestricted work authorization to work in the United States.
Must be covered by Solutions, NBCU’s Alternative Dispute Resolution Program.
