Job Description

Univision Television Group, Inc. in Chicago, IL seeks a full-time News Producer to prepare rundowns, assign, write, review, and edit all news scripts; control quality of copy, video, and graphics to ensure a high‑quality newscast, produce streaming content, breaking news, and severe weather, and create graphics as needed for shows.
Responsibilities

Write, edit, and manage all news scripts and briefs for the Spanish‑language broadcast network.
Prepare and oversee rundowns, assignments, and live remote coverage, including severe weather and breaking news.
Create graphics for shows using CANVA and support the station’s websites and social media channels.
Conduct computer‑assisted reporting, research, and database analysis, and navigate open‑records laws such as FOIA.
Act as line producer, coordinating technical and editorial needs with reporters, anchors, camera staff, engineers, and news management.
Ensure integrity and quality of the newscast from pre‑production through execution.
Make quick, informed decisions in collaboration with the news team to achieve a visually compelling broadcast.
Research, develop, and produce investigative stories for the network.
Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Journalism, or a related field.
Minimum of 5 years of experience as a television producer or in the same occupation.
Fluent in written and spoken Spanish and experienced in producing live Spanish‑language news.
Experience writing and executing news scripts, including interview‑related scripts, for Spanish‑language television.
Proficiency in Final Cut, Avid, and INews.
Strong knowledge of CANVA graphic‑design technology.
Deep understanding of editorial standards, ethics, and legal matters pertaining to broadcast.
Salary

The annual salary for this role in IL is $75,000.
