The Administrative Clerk performs administrative duties of moderate complexity, including typing, filing, recordkeeping, and answering phones, while providing front-line customer service and managing inventory.

Responsibilities

Prioritizes and provides skilled typing services to ensure accurate and timely completion of clerical tasks such as correspondence, reports, instructional materials, and college forms

Maintains filing system to ensure accurate and complete department records

Orders supplies and maintains inventory

Greets students, staff, and visitors to provide information and ensure delivery of accurate information and necessary services

Screens phone calls, answering questions or forwarding to appropriate personnel

Schedules appointments and manages the calendar for the department

Prepares contracts, consulting agreements, and necessary service documentation

Assists with bid openings and prepares Board of Trustees (BOT) agenda reports

Provides customer service on the front line, including handling walk-ins, phone calls, and email inquiries

Additional duties as assigned

Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent with a minimum of three (3) months of full-time general clerical experience

Must pass skills assessment at the basic level of proficiency in Microsoft Office

Preferred: some college education

Work Environment

Generally works in an office environment
