SEM-Microscopy Technician-Contract Position

Responsibilities

Collect, prepare, image, and document the structure and/or composition of nanostructures related to semiconductor devices.
Manage the sample queue and cleaving/analysis instructions from Process Engineering staff.
Sample preparation by hand cleaving and micro‑cleaving using tweezers.
Sample highlighting, including dilute Hydrofluoric Acid treatment.
Image sample features utilizing Scanning Electron Microscopy (SEM).
Collect compositional feature data using Energy‑dispersive X‑ray spectroscopy (EDX).
Communicate imaging results to Engineering staff.
Develop and optimize analysis techniques.
Train new users on sample preparation and analysis equipment.
Update and maintain training and certification documents for sample preparation and analysis equipment.
Contribute to continuous SEM operations efficiency improvement.
Qualifications

BS degree in Physical Science or equivalent experience required.
Previous hands‑on experience with X‑SEM; Hitachi SEM experience greatly preferred.
Proficient use of handling samples

Experience working in a laboratory environment desired.
Unrestricted right to work in the USA required.
Physical Requirements

Job duties include preparing and handling small samples for analysis; candidates must be comfortable manipulating samples smaller than 5mm and tools (tweezers, screwdriver, scribe, etc.) under a microscope. Ability to work compressed work week night shift (6pm–6am) and weekends is required.
Compensation

Salary range: $23.99–$32.11 per hour. Individual pay is determined based on multiple factors, including location, experience, skills, education, certifications, and training. Eligible employees receive a comprehensive benefits package and potential bonus plans and long‑term incentives.
