Executive Producer, Enterprise

The Wall Street Journal is seeking an Executive Producer to lead its Enterprise video team in NewYork. The role oversees quick‑turn enterprise and long‑lead investigations, bridging fast news coverage with ambitious long‑form projects.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and mentor the enterprise team, fostering collaboration, growth and innovation.
  • Drive coverage of quick‑turn enterprise stories and visual investigations off the news cycle while overseeing longer‑lead enterprise pieces.
  • Shape and refine story ideas, scripts and edits to ensure high production values and the highest journalistic standards.
  • Work closely with video journalists to hone angles, strengthen scripts and maintain production quality while meeting all journalistic and legal standards.
  • Collaborate with newsroom leaders and reporting teams to develop and build video journalism pieces across all formats, aligning with the overall editorial strategy.
  • Partner with strategy, product and audience teams to develop distinctive video formats that resonate with audiences and execute an enterprise strategy in line with the global newsroom.
  • Build relationships with the global newsroom to promote a video‑forward approach to storytelling.
  • Conceptualize and program a pipeline that delivers ambitious enterprise work at a regular cadence.

Qualifications

  • 10+ years’ experience in a daily video news environment, focused on enterprise and investigative reporting, including managing a team.
  • Track record of producing distinctive enterprise and investigative coverage that stands out in the 24/7 information cycle.
  • Exceptional editorial judgment, communication and decision‑making skills under pressure.
  • Strong script‑writing and editing experience under tight deadlines.
  • Experience with documentary and series development and production.
  • Experience in OSINT reporting, gathering and analyzing publicly available information.
  • Ability to recognize stories that resonate with WSJ’s audience and a deep understanding of current events, global politics, economics and business.
  • Strategic vision for ambitious journalism across coverage areas and formats.
  • Experience working with reporters and correspondents to develop voice and on‑camera style.
  • Specific understanding of content and audience differentiation on various platforms, including O&O and YouTube.
  • Impeccable attention to detail and capacity to foster and facilitate the personal development of team members.
