Job Overview
The Retail Relationship Manager is responsible for developing business by leveraging data to identify new customers and opportunities while utilizing technology to deliver an exceptional experience positioning AAC as a trusted partner. The Retail Relationship Manager connects with customers to understand their business and deliver timely financial solutions that meet their needs. This role requires knowledge of varied market segments and the risks associated with the agricultural industry and commodities being financed. Core responsibilities are completed in office with no assigned portfolio and focus on lead conversion, approving/denying loan applications, cross‑selling, and marketing new business through strategic community relations activities and various data sources.
Associate Relationship Manager – Essential Functions
Largely focused on lead and referral conversion from internal and some external sources to generate new business
Works with leaders and sales teammates to identify key relationships and activities to defend core business and establish relationships with existing customers
Engaged in trade and community events in partnership with marketing and sales teammates to represent AAC and build a personal network of referral resources
Reviews entity structures to determine appropriate liability and signing requirements of applicants
Developing and applying an understanding of financial statements and tax returns in order to accurately calculate and enter financial metrics
Acts as final approver when customer request fits scorecard assisted underwriting metrics, or partners with underwriting team on requests requiring additional review
Follows up with auto‑renewals to verify appropriate line commitment and usage, along with any other operational changes of the customer
Monitors and communicates with past due customers to facilitate receipt of payment
Utilizes CRM system to maintain quality data and track sales process
Develops knowledge of broad and local area risks associated with agricultural industries and commodities being financed
Able to navigate and overcome objections regarding fees, rates, and product terms while completing transactions
Demonstrated ability to assess multiple tasks or issues which are competing for a limited amount of time or resources and determine the order in which each will be addressed; sets priorities, goals, and timetables to achieve maximum productivity
Takes initiative for learning and development by acquiring and refining technical and professional skills needed in job related areas; proactively seeks performance feedback and identifies approaches to improve own performance
Interacts and communicates regularly and effectively with leadership and staff within the Retail Channel and across the association
Performs other duties as assigned
Relationship Manager – Essential Functions
Solutions Expert: knows and understands the products that AAC can offer to our customers including those of our product partners
Fosters new business by cultivating and maintaining relationships, discovering needs, and providing new solutions to our customers
Develops new business through data‑driven insights, and by providing expertise and involvement in key community and industry functions
Qualifies and converts Retail Leads from various sources
Reviews entity structures to determine appropriate liability and signing requirements
Collects, analyzes, and enters financials with accuracy in order to assure sound credit decisions
Acts as final approver when customer request fits scorecard assisted underwriting metrics, and works with underwriting team to recommend approval of requests requiring additional review
Creates fee and rate offerings that achieve Association profitability targets while remaining competitive within respective markets
Follows up with auto‑renewals to verify appropriate line commitment and usage, along with any other operational changes of the customer
Monitors and communicates with past due customers to ensure timely payment with the ability to identify and address potential distress
Utilizes CRM system to maintain quality data and track sales process
Knowledgeable in broad and local market area risks associated with agricultural industries and commodities being financed
Focus on providing excellent customer service through outstanding communication skills
Demonstrated ability to assess multiple tasks or issues which are competing for a limited amount of time or resources and determine the order in which each will be addressed; sets priorities, goals, and timetables to achieve maximum productivity

Education and Experience
AA/AS degree with emphasis on agribusiness, business administration, finance or equivalent; BA/BS preferred
Minimum 3–7 years of progressively responsible banking or related agriculture lending experience
Thorough knowledge of legal requirements, FCA regulations, association, and district policies and procedures
Ability to interpret and apply complex policies and procedures
In‑depth understanding of the product offerings of American AgCredit and thorough understanding of the external marketplace
Ability to use software and information technology to collect, organize, retrieve, maintain, and disseminate information
Ability to use technology in new or complex situations
Essential Requirements
Must have the ability to perform basic office tasks and work in a typical office setting
Employee will be sitting for extended periods of time and accomplishing work at a desk and working at a computer for an extended period of time
Must have strong written and verbal communication skills to adequately convey ideas and work well with a team
Ability to talk and hear, sit and use their hands and fingers, and reach in all directions is essential in performance of the job
Some lifting and moving of items up to 25 pounds required
Work during established business hours and may require occasional weekend and/or evening work
Part‑Time Remote/Hybrid
These employees will work partly remote and partly onsite. Part‑time remote employees will work with their managers to determine when and how often they are needed onsite.
Pay Range
PAY RANGE: Minimum $89,848.42 - Max $156,560.87 Annual
