Social Media Manager Intern (Part-Time) – Africans in Tech Podcast

Location:

Atlanta, GA (Hybrid: Remote + occasional in-person)
Schedule:

Flexible (10–15 hours per week)
Compensation:

$15–$20/hour (based on experience) + perks

Role Overview
We are seeking a

Social Media Manager Intern

who is creative, organized, and consistent in delivering engaging content across multiple platforms. This role is responsible for planning, creating, and publishing content that drives engagement and grows our audience across Instagram, LinkedIn, YouTube, and Facebook.

This individual will work closely with our

Videography Intern

to ensure podcast clips (reels/shorts) are effectively distributed and optimized across platforms. The role also includes researching podcast guests and turning their stories into engaging, educational, and shareable content.

Key Responsibilities

Publish

3 posts per week

on each platform:

Instagram (Reels + carousel/engagement posts)

LinkedIn (professional insights + guest highlights)

YouTube (Shorts + community engagement posts)

Facebook (engagement + reshared content)

Collaborate with the Videography Intern to:

Post podcast clips, reels, and highlights consistently

Ensure content is formatted correctly for each platform

Research upcoming and past podcast guests to:

Create engaging posts (facts, achievements, discussion topics)

Develop storytelling-driven captions that spark conversation

Utilize existing

Africans in Tech templates

or create new ones that align with the brand

Set up and manage

content scheduling/automation tools

(e.g., Buffer, Hootsuite, Later, etc.) to streamline posting

Monitor engagement (likes, comments, shares) and suggest improvements

Stay up to date on social media trends and recommend content ideas

Qualifications

Basic experience with social media management (personal brand or business)

Familiarity with Instagram, LinkedIn, YouTube, and Facebook content formats

Strong writing skills for captions and storytelling

Basic design skills (Canva, CapCut, or similar tools)

Ability to research and summarize information about tech professionals

Organized and able to manage a content calendar

Experience with scheduling/automation tools is a plus
